| Kentucky - TourismFestivals___________________________ The Kentucky Derby 134 Mint Julep ____________
_____________
The traditional beverage of Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby for nearly 100 years has been the Mint Julep. An honored part of the Mint Julep tradition has been The Early Times Kentucky Whisky. Now for more than 18 years, "The Official Mint Julep of the Kentucky Derby" has been The Early Times Mint Julep Ready-to-Serve Cocktail. During a two-day period of the Kentucky Oaks and the Kentucky Derby, close to 120,000 Early Time Mint Juleps are served. This requires there to be over 10,000 bottles of The Early Times Mint Julep Cocktail on hand, along with 1,000 pounds of freshly harvested mint, not to mention the 60,000 pounds of ice. During the year when you crave a Mint Julep without the hassle of going to the Derby, you can now enjoy one of your own! You can find the Early Times Mint Julep Ready-to-Serve Cocktail at your local retailer! However, if it is not available at you local retailer you can make one up on your own.
