Fancy Farm, KY developed around St. Jerome ’s Catholic Church.  The town was named for the farm of John Peebles.  Samuel Willett and Elizabeth Hobbs, from St. Rose Catholic Church located in Washington County , were the first permanent Catholic settlers in 1829.  The first church building was built in 1835-1836 by Rev. Elisha Durbin.  The present church was “blessed” by Bishop Wm. McCloskey in November 1893.  Other noted pastors include: Rev. R. Feehan, Rev. W. Hancock, Rev. A. Hagan, Rev. C. Haeseley, Msgr. A. Thomppson, Msgr. E. Russell and Rev. C. Dernardi.
