Fulton County - Founding of Fulton County

Marker # 1587 Founding Father

The grave of Benjamin Franklin Carr, who is one of the first settlers of Fulton, Kentucky is located near this site.

Marker # 1169 Fulton County

The county was formed in 1845 out of Hickman County. It was part of the Jackson Purchase from the Chickasaw Indians in 1818. It was named for Robert Fulton.

Marker # 973 Isham Browder’s Grave

Isham Browder was enlisted into the 2^nd Virginia Regiment at age 14. He was wounded at Monmouth and was discharged in 1779, when he then moved to Kentucky. When Fulton County was first formed, he was appointed on the first County Court. He also served as sheriff.
