Eastern Kentucky

Paintsville Lake State Park:

Nestled in the Eastern Kentucky Mountains, guests will find over 1,000 acres of lake for fishing, skiing, and boating.

There are 32 developed camping sites with restrooms, showers, and laundry as well as sewer hookups. The 32 site campground has electricity, water, and sewer hookups at each site. There are an additional 10 primitive sites. Pets are allowed on the campground if they are restrained. The campground is closed from mid-November to mid-March.

A full- service marina is also located near the campground, which offers rental houseboats, pontoons, and fishing boats.

There is also a great place nearby the lake that the whole family can enjoy! The Mountain Homeplace is a glimpse into the past, into a vanished way of life. Mountain Homeplace is a living history farm which recreates what Appalachian farm life in the-1800's was like.
